This was my second trip to this wonderful lodge and it did not disappoint. Kate and Justin have managed to assemble a top notch group of guides, pilot, chef, and support staff to make this destination the best I have encountered. There was a day when the fishing was poor at our assigned area but they chartered another plane to take us in a different direction where the fishing was everything to expect at five star lodge. Their flexibility and dedication to the client is unsurpassed. Above all is the amazing scenery, wildlife, and the staffs goal of making you feel like one of the family.

This place is so special. Kate and Justin made transportation to and from the airport so easy. The lodge/rooms are beautiful, the food was amazing. Every single person that works there is so kind, knowledgeable, helpful and fun. Loved the float plane. They made fishing easy, even for a newbie. And it made me so happy that they made visiting Katmai National Park so easy. And of course I loved all the dogs at the lodge (such a bonus). If I'm ever lucky enough to return to Alaska in the future, I will stay here everytime!

I have been to The Lodge at 58* North for two consecutive years. Having fished for most of my life, I can confidently say the Lodge offers the best experience I’ve ever had. The scenery, accommodations, food, staff, fishing guides and, especially, the fishing itself are truly outstanding. I have every intention of returning next year.

I traveled here as a solo mid-50s woman traveler for a women's fly-fishing trip and this was my first stay at a lodge like this. Justin and Kate and their staff were generous and gracious hosts. The Lodge and cabins are appointed in a comfortable wilderness elegance. The food and drink were out of this world--each meal different than the next--and the chef tried to use as many local ingredients as possible. The guides are expert in their craft and they quickly understood the things needed to make each angler successful on each outing. I caught king salmon, sockeye salmon and rainbow trout on this trip--multiple times! I loved flying in the float plane--I went to the Brooks River to see the bears and fish for trout and one of the most memorable trips was to a creek on the edges of Katmai National Park to hike and fish--the float plane dropped us off and we hiked across the tundra seeing multiple birds and wildflowers unlike anything I had ever experienced. In fact, if I wasn't such a distracted birder, I would have caught more fish. Each guide knew their stuff and took me to incredible places. On one of the float plane rides back, our pilot pointed out a pod of 50+ beluga whales. I appreciated the ways that Justin and Kate and their staff personalized the experience for each guest. Initially, I thought this might be a once in a lifetime trip for me, but it's not. I'm already thinking about when I will go back and when I do, I will stay here.

Catching fish is definitely something that you will experience at The Lodge at 58 North, with a float plane based at the dock ready to fly you to some beautiful remote places and motor boats to run you up the river to an equally worthy fishing spot. Fortunately, that is not all you will experience. The owners of the lodge, Kate and Justin, have created this genuine sense of belonging, a comfortable easy-going atmosphere where you can relax and take in all that Alaska has to offer. Go enjoy a wonderful experience.

True wilderness. True hospitality. Kate and Justin Crump have created in The Lodge at 58* North an experience that fulfilled us in a meaningful way, and beyond our expectations. The lodge is located perfectly to be able to fish its home waters of the Naknek River, and as a place to take off each morning from the dock to fly off in the Lodge’s float plane to remote lakes and streams to experience the true wild that you come to Alaska for. Each day was customized to our goals and abilities and was unique, rewarding, and memorable. Our guides each day got us on the type of fish we were after, but also were engaging, resourceful, and a true pleasure to share in such a fulfilling experience with. Being fully immersed in the wonder of the wild each day and coming back each night to The Lodge at 58* North for cocktails, cuisine, and conversation will stay with me as a core memory for the rest of my days. The private luxury cabins were well appointed and restored us each night for the next day’s adventures. The team Kate and Justin have assembled, from their pilot, to their chefs, to each and every guide they have on staff, love Alaska, and bring that love and their unique skills to what they do for you each day. True wilderness. True hospitality. Truly extraordinary.

This was my second time to this Lodge and it was better than before! Justin and Kate are generous and gracious hosts; the guides, the chefs, the staff, the pilot are all warm, welcoming and professional. They know their craft. The accommodations are simply luxurious and comfortable; the food is next level; the excursions are other worldly; and the fishing is incredible. I came here at the end of June/beginning of July and the variety of fishing we did was so fun and exciting for this experienced angler. I can't say enough about the Lodge at 58 North. I will definitely be back and you should go too!
